We offer specialist Mediation Services and are the biggest provider across the South West. Family Mediation helps sort matters out when families are separating or divorcing. This can be either parenting issues or finances. It avoids the stress and cost of litigation, and it gives parties more control over the outcome. We usually sort matters out over 2- 3 meetings. LEGAL AID is still available for Family Mediation for those who are eligible. For those who are not, it is much cheaper than the solicitors route or applying to Court. We offer Family Mediation in 13 venues across the South West. Workplace Mediation provides a forum for sorting out disputes or difficulties between employees and employers. Civil Mediation helps sort out civil disputes in order to avoid costly and lengthy disputes in the Courts. Commercial Mediation will work on a similar model to Civil Mediation and can sort out disputes between businesses, again avoiding the cost and time involved in Court litigation. Our Commercial Civil & Workplace Mediators can travel to a venue to suit anywhere in the South and we have a strong record at resolving matters within one day. In all Mediations, we strongly encourage clients to seek legal advice alongside mediating, as the Mediator must be impartial.

Organizational justice and workplace mediation: a six‐factor model
Purpose – This study examines the structure and dimensionality of organizational justice in a workplace mediation setting. It has three purposes: to determine whether the procedural and interpersonal justice factors in the four‐factor model of organizational justice can be split, thereby providing support for a six‐factor model; to identify how the split factors relate to other factors in the model; and to uncover any differences in employee and supervisor perceptions of organizational justice in workplace mediation.Design/methodology/approach – Confirmatory factor analysis is used to explore the fit of four different models of organizational justice. The paper examines cross factor correlations to assess the strength and relationships among factors and to look for differences between employees and supervisors.Findings – It is found that a six‐factor model of organizational justice provides the best fit for the data and that factor relationships differ little for employees and supervisors.Research limitat...

Workplace Mediation: An Underdeveloped Research Area
In this article, we review the literature on workplace mediation. To organize the literature in a logical way, we have relied primarily on the model of Margaret Herrman and her colleagues and examine the important influence of culture and feedback loops on the practice of workplace mediation. Workplace mediation has become a frequent practice in the United States, Europe, much of Asia, and Australia. In the literature, we have found various descriptions of this practice as well as long lists of its assumed benefits, but empirical studies examining the effectiveness of workplace mediation have been few; a limited number of studies have investigated which conditions ensure the effectiveness of workplace mediation, and few studies have relied on observations. As such, workplace mediation represents an underdeveloped research area. In this article, we describe the findings from the existing literature and offer suggestions for future research.

Workplace mediation: the participant experience
This paper reports on a qualitative study of the perceptions and experiences of participants in workplace mediation. In total, 25 individuals, from a variety of occupations and organisations, were interviewed by researchers. The project sought to: explore the trajectory of individual disputes and assess participants’ views of the effectiveness of mediation provision and sustainability of outcomes. Furthermore, the research attempted to examine the broader impact of participation in mediation on the approach of individuals and organisations to the management of conflict.

Are you experienced? SME use of and attitudes towards workplace mediation
Workplace mediation is high on the British policy agenda. To date, however, despite growing awareness, organisational experience in Britain remains limited and the evidence base accordingly underdeveloped. This paper contributes to the debate by undertaking secondary quantitative analysis of an Acas Omnibus Poll of 500 SMEs. Two substantive issues are explored: the characteristics associated with previous experience of mediation in resolving workplace conflict; and the extent to which prior knowledge and experience of mediation in this context impact on a range of attitudinal variables. In respect of the former we find firm size to be important, while for the latter the data suggest attitudes are typically more positive among experienced firms. This is most notably true in relation to the perceived cost of mediation and (subject to a qualification) to its suitability for smaller firms, both of which are crucial drivers of the uptake of mediation among smaller organisations.

Employees, Supervisors, and Workplace Mediation
This study explores the experience of disputant–disputant interpersonal justice in workplace mediation in a public organization. The results show that there are significant differences between employees’ and supervisors’ experiences of disputant–disputant interpersonal justice. Moreover, the results indicate that the quality of participants’ interactions in mediation is significantly related to the quality of the mediated outcome in terms of settlement or case resolution. When disputants experience interpersonal justice with each other during mediation, they are more likely to reach a full resolution to the dispute. When disputants corroborate each other’s reports of their own behaviors during mediation, they are also more likely to achieve settlement of the mediation. Disputants who received an apology from the other party were more likely to report a settlement to the dispute. In sum, this field test supports the theory of disputant–disputant interpersonal justice and provides evidence that it is an important element in the mediated resolution of a workplace dispute.

Developing the conversation about workplace mediation.
This article examines some of the latest writing and research in relation to conflict in work and workplace mediation. It considers three specific issues of size and sector of organisations, the attitude of organisations to conflict and the employee relations environment in organisations. It reviews the various views in relation to fundamental aspects of mediation such as the neutral third party, voluntarism, informality and confidentiality to inform thinking as well as practitioner and academic conversations. The most recent research in relation to the use of workplace mediation, the agreement reached and satisfaction is also presented. Research into the use of workplace mediation demonstrates that there are differences across countries and sectors. The broader issues related to evaluation of workplace mediation and organisation culture implications of workplace mediation for conflict management are then considered.

Measuring Value in Mediation: A Case Study of Workplace Mediation in City Government
To date, mediation programs have been evaluated for effectiveness by focusing on a number of indicators, including resolution rates, participant satisfaction surveys, and reduction in complaint volume. Cost-benefit and value analysis of such programs is rare. This paper reports the results from the first two years of operations at the New York City Center for Mediation Services, evaluates these results, and discusses ways to begin measuring the value of a centralized workplace mediation program, noting first time and cost savings and participant satisfaction with the program, then extending the analysis to address return on investment, reduced opportunity costs, and the program's contribution to a productive work environment.

Organizational Justice and Dispute Resolution: A Six-Factor Model for Workplace Mediation
This study examines the relationship between organizational justice and workplace mediation. Despite the value of using organizational justice to assess the perceived fairness of workplace mediation, there may be some problems with the wholesale application of the traditional four-factor model of organizational justice to such processes. The most obvious problem is the application of a model designed to assess justice perception in a two-way supervisor-subordinate relationship (as is the case in most organizational justice research) to a mediation process where there are multiple and divergent directions of interaction and reduced power imbalances. This study proposes and tests a six-factor model of organizational justice for application to workplace mediation. It finds that a six-factor model provides a significantly better fit for workplace mediation than the traditional four-factor model. This result has implications for both the theory and practice behind workplace mediation.

Workplace Mediation in Ireland: Bridging the Research-Practice Gap.
The purpose of this article is to present a case for the importance of research in informing mediation practice specifically in the context of the management of workplace conflict in Ireland. The position of mediation within the broader dispute-resolution framework is clarified at the outset and the core mediation process is described. The increasing use of mediation in Ireland and the changing institutional context within which it is conducted are discussed. The importance of research is stressed along with crucial methodological challenges. The paucity of workplace mediation research in Ireland is highlighted and the preliminary findings of an on-going research project are presented. The article concludes that more research into workplace mediation in Ireland is needed to inform practice in this area and to improve external perception of the legitimacy of mediation as a dispute resolution process.

As someone who worked and managed teams within IBM for many years, I understand the day to day people challenges businesses face with internal disciplinary, investigations, and the timescales and workload it takes to undertake these tasks. The traditional ways of managing workplace conflict in the workplace can be damaging to relationships between employees, whether that is between managers and team leaders. As a workplace mediator, I wanted to use the skills that I had to post videos on what workplace mediation is, with for example the process, roles, procedure, and any other parts of the process that can be broken down into bite size descriptions. I am happy to provide impartial advice, with no obligations, and assistance before you decide on medication, so that you fully understand the process and how it works, and am willing to discuss any queries you have about the mediation process.
