1 | On-wafer wireless testing and mismatch monitoring using RF transmitters with integrated antennas | This paper presents two fully integrated transmitters with embedded antennas to demonstrate on-wafer wireless testing for the first time. The proposed transmitters are intended to not only replace the I/O pins during manufacturing testing but also to serve as process monitoring circuits. The first RF transmitter, operating at 5.5 GHz, utilizes a current-reuse LC oscillator to minimize complexity and power consumption. Implemented in a 0.13-µm CMOS technology, the inductor in the LC tank doubles as a loop antenna. With 10 cm of separation between the on-chip loop antenna and the off-chip discrete antenna, the transmitter supports OOK modulation of up to 10 Mbps at 0.15 nJ/bit and FSK modulation of up to 2 Mbps at 1.5 nJ/bit. The second transmitter design employs a 1.2-GHz Hartley image-reject transmitter in an InGaP/GaAs HBT process to demonstrate both wireless data link and process control monitoring. Both dipole and loop antennas are integrated to study their radiation efficiency as their dimensions are much less than the wavelength of the 1.2-GHz carrier. The loop antenna provides about 7 dB better transmission gain. The image rejection ratio is measured wirelessly from a number of samples to monitor the die-to-die variations in the I/Q mismatch. The wireless measurements are consistent with direct contact probing. | Business, Engineering | 2009 | 6
2 | The design of wireless testing system for concrete rigidity based on virtual instrument | Concrete road constitute a high proportion of trunk highways and branch lines in China. As an evaluation index of concrete road quality, concrete rigidity has become an important performance parameter. Consequently, testing the concrete rigidity of concrete road is absolutely necessary during the road construction and acceptance in order to assure the quality and durablity of road. A wireless testing system for concrete rigidity based on virtual instrument was proposed in this paper. C8051F040 and wireless transceiver module nRF905 were used to build the wireless data transmission system hardware platform of lower computer. LabVIEW was used as the system's development platform of upper computer, meanwhile, NRF905 and Atmega16 were combined to receive concrete rigidity data from lower computer through the wireless communication. The results showed that this system had reasonable design, compact structure, complete functions, convenient operation and high accuracy. | Computer Science, Engineering | 2012 | 6
3 | A Fully Integrated Transmitter with Embedded Antenna for On-Wafer Wireless Testing | This paper presents a fully integrated transmitter with embedded on-chip antennas to demonstrate on-wafer wireless testing. First, on-chip antenna characterization methods based on the measured transmission link gain are described. From the measured transmission link gain, the on-chip antenna gain is determined using the known transmitter gain, a path loss, and an off-chip antenna gain. The proposed two-step method utilizes a high-gain off-chip antenna transmission link for base line calibration data to obtain better gain accuracy. For wireless testing, a fully integrated a 1.2-GHz Hartley image-reject transmitter is implemented in an 40-GHz ft InGaP/GaAs HBT process. The image rejection (IR) ratio is measured to demonstrate process control monitoring of device mismatches. Both dipole and loop antennas are integrated to study their radiation efficiency as their dimensions are much less than the wavelength. The loop antenna provides about 7 dB better transmission gain. The IR ratio is measured wirelessly from a number of samples to monitor the die-to-die variations in the in-phase/quadrature mismatch. Monte Carlo simulations are used to aid the analysis of the sources of amplitude and phase mismatches. | Business, Computer Science, Engineering | 2010 | 5

5 | Embedded Wireless Testing System Applied in Coal Cutting Experiment | The Study aims at finding solutions to the existing condition that is difficult to achieve the operation of the wire data transmission in the process of shearer cutting, which demands putting forward an embedded wireless testing system that meets 3D mechanical signal collection and transmission. Embedded signal acquisition and wireless data transmission are included by the test system. Signal acquisition device is used to get the three-dimensional force of shearer pick cutting coal and rock, the wireless data transmission was built based on the zigbee wireless technology and labview virtual technology. This system is utilized in the coal cutting test-bed (CTBCR), two sequential cylinder head with different cutting parameters were used in the cutting experiment. The results show that The relationship between the cutting force and the coal compressive strength, pick-tip cone angle, drum rotate speed ,traction speed. Fluctuation in the cutting force has a linear relationship to coal compressive strength and traction speed. A plot of cutting force fluctuations versus the cutting thickness follows a sigmoidal curve. Based on the analysis of these test results a theoretical basis is supplied for design and effective use of shearer drums. © 2018 Jordan Journal of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
